BIOLOGY AND HEALTH
MARSEILLE
BETTER UNDERSTAND YOUR DISEASE TO BETTER FIGHT IT
Tous Chercheurs has designed different forms of training and courses for members of patient associations with chronic diseases because a person has a better chance of fighting against their own disease when they know it, understand it, and are aware of the progress of research in the field.
These courses allow members of patient associations:
– To acquire, by practice and theory, the bases of biology necessary to understand their disease.
- Understand some of the known (or suspected) mechanisms behind the disease.
- To become aware of the specificities and constraints of research.
During these courses, the participants meet doctors and/or researchers specialised in their pathology to discuss the various avenues of research, possible treatments, and the support of patients.
RESEARCH SERVING PATIENTS
Tous Chercheurs courses place participants (patients, carers, family) in an investigative role. They are designed (theoretical content and experiences) in close collaboration with a network of researchers, doctors and associative actors. Each course is supervised by the Tous Chercheurs team of trainers and can be co-supervised by doctoral or post-doctoral students, or other actors in biomedical research whose research or actions are directly related to the pathology or the problematic of the course.
